I have two dogs named Carson and Korra who are the best. Carson is a dense 65-pound boxer/pitbull mix who is as sweet as can be and thinks he is a lap dog. If he were a person, he would be that stereotypical high school drama movie dumb jock. He is always down for new adventures and he is happy to pull his weight with his backpack when we go hiking or camping. Korra is a nervous 45-pound rescue Formosan Mountain Dog from Taipei. She is afraid of everything and everyone at first, but Carson's bold tendencies give her confidence. Once she warms up to you, she is the most loving dog I have ever known.
I didn't start consistently hiking as a hobby until I moved out to Seattle. We had some good city parks near me to go for nice walks growing up, but my family was not the "roughing it" type. Now hiking is my all time favorite way to get outside and get moving, you just can't beat those views! This past summer I started getting into camping as well, hence the motivation to teach Carson to carry his own pack. For the winter I picked up snowboarding, and fell head over heals in love with the sport! I am already counting down to the next season, and usually I am not a fan of winter.
Fall 2018
The Seattle Saracens are a premier level rugby team in Seattle, WA with a women's team that was established in 1997. They are the only American team that is part of the British Columbia Rugby Union, which otherwise consists of teams from the Vancouver area and Vancouver Island. The fall season is developmental and consists of friendly matches that do not count towards the league record, and league play is from January to April. I breifly joined the team intending to continue my rugby development but quickly realized that committing to this level of rugby would detract from my ability to focus on career development.
